Justice Advocacy Service (JAS) Volunteers are people within the community who want to give back to their community or provide help to people around them. For others it provides an opportunity to develop new skills or build on existing experience and knowledge. JAS Volunteers range from retirees to university students to stay at home mums and dads. It does not matter what your skills, experience, and qualifications are, JAS will provide a comprehensive induction, training and support program. A JAS Volunteer supports victims, witnesses, suspects/defendants with cognitive impairment at police stations, court and legal appointments. countdown program is a program coordinated by Uniting that assists young
learner drivers who are facing significant barriers to gaining the mandatory
120 hours of driving hours before applying for their provisional drivers
licence. The 120 program matches learner drivers with fully licenced volunteer mentors who can provide driving practice and youth mentoring in a fully maintained Uniting vehicle until they accumulate 120 hours of driving experience. |
